A Passage through Time Acclaimed photographer Charles March (b. 1955 in London; lives and works in Goodwood, West Sussex) worked with Stanley Kubrick on his film Barry Lyndon before starting a successful career in commercial photography. When the digital revolution in photography took off, he developed his own personal technique, in which he uses the camera almost like a paintbrush to create images of landscapes and nature that brim with emotion and movement. The images for this new series, which reads like a pictorial journey, were shot over the last five years in a single location, Gleann Badraig (Scottish Gaelic for Glen Batrick) on the sparsely populated Scottish island of Jura. March has collaborated with the well-known Scottish poet Ken Cockburn to create a book that takes the reader beyond mere photography to evoke not only the island's atmosphere, but also the thoughts and feelings a person has in one of the world's most remote places. Eine Reise durch die Zeit Der gefeierte Fotograf Charles March (geb. 1955 in London, lebt und arbeitet in Goodwood, West Sussex) arbeitete auf dem Set von Stanley Kubricks Film Barry Lyndon, bevor er eine erfolgreiche Laufbahn in der kommerziellen Fotografie einschlug. Im Zuge der digitalen Revolution in der Fotografie entwickelte er eine ganz persönliche Technik, bei der er die Kamera beinahe wie den Pinsel eines Malers einsetzt, um Landschafts- und Naturansichten voller Emotion und Bewegung zu schaffen. Die Bilder für diese neue Serie, die sich wie ein fotografisches Reisetagebuch liest, entstanden im Lauf der letzten fünf Jahre an einem einzigen Ort, Gleann Badraig (schottisches Gälisch für Glen Batrick) auf der beinahe menschenleeren schottischen Insel Jura. Zusammen mit dem bekannten schottischen Dichter Ken Cockburn schuf March ein Buch, das mehr ist als nur ein Fotoband: Über die Atmosphäre der Insel hinaus vermittelt es auch die Gedanken und Gefühle, die einer der entlegensten Orte der Welt wachruft.
