Compiled and published after Fitzgeralds death by his friend, the prominent critic and editor Edmund Wilson, The Crack-Up is a collection of personal essays, notes and letters that chronicle the late authors state of mind in his darkest moments. In turns philosophical and personal, these musings lay barethe anguish and turmoil of a life falling apart, yet manifest a degree of hope forthe future and a determination to hang on. Providing invaluable insight into the final years of the Jazz Ages most iconic figures, The Crack-Up demonstrates that the author of The Great Gatsby and Tender Is the Night did not only excel in the field of fiction.
