Over the past decade, tattoos have become one of the most popular forms of visual culture in the world. This lavishly illustrated book showcases the work of the most significant tattoo practitioners of our time, while mapping out the most relevant current trends and styles. Based around strong visual material, the book includes a generous number of interviews with key characters, as well as essays that give a comprehensive vision of contemporary tattoo culture. Significant connections are also made between what is going on in tattoo culture today with seminal figures and developments in the recent past, examining how historical styles blend into new ones.
