Microorganisms and insects are the two most successful groups of organisms on earth. The ubiquitous microbes are also present inside the body of insects in close association and are known as endosymbionts. Out of the various endosymbionts present in insects, bacteria are found to be performing the most diverse roles . Only less than one per cent of insect endosymbionts are culturable and next generation sequencing techniques like Illumina, Ion Torrent, Roche 454 pyrosequencing etc. can be employed for the detection of non culturable species.
