I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment, and life's greatest rewards are reserved for those who demonstrate a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of determination can move mountains. However, it must be constant and consistent. In the changes like downsizing, restructuring, outsourcing, mergers, or new technology adaptation, we acknowledge that relationships between organizations and their peoples are indeed changing. The title of the book was chosen to reflect psychology of various entities within the world of work to which one might become committed. Indeed, it is becoming progressively more perceptible that to explain why people do what they do at work. My 22 years long association with the crucial cadre of Psycho-Technical applications on Indian Railways provoked me to examine a sample of critical workforce (Rail Engine Drivers') and study them from various angles. Why a human being who is otherwise, so loyal and humble could be negligent/incompetent and thereby, the cause of destruction. The contributions of many individuals over the years have helped to shape my thinking and ultimately this book. I am indebted to all.
